January 1985 - Present

    Starter of the International Photo operation of AFP in Mexico City.
    Covered the entire events of 1985 earthquake in Mexico city that left thousands of fatal victims.
    Continuous assignments to cover the Cuba economic situation, focusing at The Special Period in Time of Peace (Spanish: Período especial), an extended period of economic crisis that began in 1989.
    Assignment as coordinator and photographer during the war against drugs in Colombia during 1989.
    Assignments as coordinator and photographer in seven different Pope John Paul II foreign trips-
    Recruited and trained new photojournalists in Mexico and abroad.
    Extensive coverages of Sports, Daily and Top News.
    Numerous editing and coverages of different types of conflicts, violence and disasters in Latin America and United States, as New Orleans flood (2006), political campaigns and conflicts in Mexico and Central America.
    Torres has participated as staff photographer in eight World Cups, (1978 Argentina, 1986, Mexico, 1990 Italia, 1994 United States,1998 France, 2002 Korea-Japan, 2008 South Africa). Six Olympics games, (Calgary, Canada 1988, Seoul, Korea 1988, Barcelona, Spain 1992, Atlanta, United States 1996, Athens, Greece 2004, and Beijing, China 2008).
   Six Pan-American Games (Indianapolis, United States in 1987, La Havana, Cuba in 1991, Mar del Plata, Argentina in 1995, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic in 2003 (as organizer, coordinator and photographer), Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 2007 and Guadalajara, Mexico in 2011 (as organizer, coordinator and photographer), and several other regional sports events in all disciplines.
